Ukrainian Higher Education
April 15th, 2009 by adminInternational students receive higher education in institutes, academies and universities, that are not just accredited, but have a special certificate to teach foreign students as well. The Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine manages the quality of education given to international students.
Foreign students begin their education with the foundation year, which includes a course of Russian (Ukrainian) language and some comprehensive subjects in accordance with the future profession. Further study continues together with Ukrainian students.
You will become a student of an academy or university in accordance with the results of your entrance exams passed in July and August.
The education year starting on September, 1 lasts to the end of July and it consists of a couple of terms. The students go on their holidays between these two terms: the first – from September to January; the second – from February to June. Summer holidays continue for three months.
At the end of every term students takes 3-5 tests and 3-5 exams . Successful passing of tests and examinations guarantees the probability of getting to the following term.
Students have classes each day except for days off. They attend tutorials, lectures, work with materials in resource centres and libraries.
Higher education course comprises work placement that gives students the opportunity to get experience.
Recognition of qualification obtained is the state’s priority. In case of successful university graduation students gain the diplomas whatever type of property it alludes to. The subjects’ transcript lists with grades is attached to the diploma.
