If Russians do not know you they do not fake the niceties Westerners are used to. However, once you get to know them they become some of the warmest friends you can have. I studied in St.Petersburg and it was a wonderful experience. While Moscow State Univeristy is a better school than St. Petersburg State, the cultural experince of living in Petersburg made the choice easy for me. Moscow is fun to visit but Peterbsurg is better to live and study (also more affordable). Ali, have you traveled to Russia personally?
